This is one of my favorite products from FACE: the Christian History Library in Libronix. It is the best investment I’ve made in a long time.
There are 11 volumes included (see the list here). They are all searchable and interactive, so I can search a topic and the program will search all volumes for every reference. It saves so much time from trying to search through stacks of books. It also can take you on great rabbit trails as you find unexpected things that lead you to things you didn’t even know were there.
Because all the words are linked together so you can study to find a certain word or a topic. this is great for general study or specific words and it works better than an index, which does allow searching by topic. So, for instance, I can search for the word “conscience” or the topic property. It will pull up all the words and passages related to your search, footnotes and all.
I can also tag passages with my own notes and save them. This is a very handy study help. The notes are easy to find and you can pull all your notes up at once.
The footnotes are hot linked as well, so when it refers to other volumes you can click and read the full context of the footnotes. It’s so nice not to have to get out 4 books to read 4 pages!
It copied all the volumes to my hard drive, so I do not need the CD-ROM every time I need to use the program. I can just click the icon and get cracking. It saves time on preparing teacher notebooks in subjects and word studies as well, because it contains a KJV Bible and Webster’s 1828 Dictionary.
This library is also compatible with Logos, so if you have that program this will flow seamlessly with it.
The hard copies of the books are also terrific to have because sometimes you need to hold a book or you just don’t want to be at your computer. But for study and lesson preparation this is a wise investment.

This has been on my wish list for quite awhile. I need to make a conscious effort to save up for it.

This looks like a great investment to have all these wonderful resources in one place!

Brenda,
it is an amazing program. If you haven’t been to Logos to see the video of how their Bible study tools work, you should. You’ll want one! The Christian History Library is a wonderful set of books that any homeschooler can use, not just those using BPA. If you ever study American HisStory, then you can benefit from this library.
