Spanish Fun Activity Calendar
The aptly named Spanish Fun Activity Calendar from Flip Flop Spanish uses a Charlotte Mason methodology to teach Spanish. We use this calendar with our children who are Pre-K to 8th grade. In the front of the calendar you will find the directions on how to use the calendar, your calendar words as well as colors and a pronunciation chart.
Learn Spanish at your child’s pace and track your progress by adding one useful word per day. Say the word of the day three times, color and label the word in the month’s mural, and your Spanish lesson is done for the day ~ all on the way to the breakfast table!
Each practical vocabulary word is strategically laid out so that every Friday, you and your child will know a complete sentence by using your newfound vocabulary from that week.
The twelve months’ dates are left open so you can start any month, any year.

Each month has a coloring page that depicts the month’s vocabulary words. Additionally, you can l find the vocabulary words in the picture and label them .
How we use it in our home:
We used this calendar to supplement our Latin Learning and to gently learn Spanish. We are using the calendar to show the children the similarity between Latin and Spanish, truly all romance languages. The kids will stand around the calendar and spontaneously note the similarity between words like porta (Latin) and puerta (Spanish). They have really enjoyed being little language detectives. Additionally, they have successfully added some Spanish Vocabulary to their language lexicon.

My thoughts:
This is a great product to use to introduce your children to the Spanish Language in a sweet and gently way. Since you are learning 5-7 words per week there is not a large time commitment involved. If you are like me and you took Spanish in High School and College then it is a wonderful refresher course for Mom too.

I love that it’s just a few common words each day that you can slowly incorporate into your daily routine.
I like that there is something for every day. We are currently learning Spanish, but we only have lessons on Friday. This would be a great supplement throughout the week!
I love how easy it will be to add it to our daily Morning Time! Learning just a little each day can make such a big impact.
Those are all the same thoughts that I had this curriculum is easy breezy!
My daughter (7) loves to maintain our pocket calendar and remind us of upcoming events. This calendar would be a great way to have her expand her Spanish vocabulary at the same time!
I just found out about this curriculum. Anxious for my children to start the program next year.
